Zodiac is a Deus Ex MOD which is a set of six single player missions for Deus Ex 1. A little rundown on the MOD is that it takes place just after JC Denton leaves Tracer Tong to find clues at the Versalife building in Hong Kong. You play the part of Paul Denton and it takes you to the CIA headquarters in Langley through to Buenos Aires.
If you want to install this, first you need to install Deus Ex (Read the tutorial here). This is just a short post to get it to install and work on a Mac Wineskin installation.
The reason for me writing this ‘How to‘ was to find a native way of playing Crysis Warhead (2008 version) on Mac OS X rather than via something like bootcamp and a windows installation. And after loads of installing and testing… again and again etc… I finally managed to sort out the process to get it working.
UPDATE: has been revised to work with MAC OS 10.10.5. So if below doesn’t work for your older Mac OS just leave a comment and I will archive/publish the old version of this post. Also works with 10.11 (El Capitan) but needs Wineskin 2.6.1+
Okay first things first – the actual reason for me writing this ‘How to‘ was to find a native way of playing Deus Ex 1 (2000 version) on Mac OS X rather than via something like bootcamp and a windows installation. The only version ever released for the Apple Mac was natively Mac OS 9 which as we all know is now long gone. Plus this is the important bit it’s still the number one game for me of all time!
(This is not so much a game review but more an update).
UPDATE: I have created a more detailed install Deus Ex 1 with Wineskin guide Read it here…
I have always wanted to play the original and still the best Deus Ex 1 on my Apple Mac natively (after apple ditched Mac OS 9 Classic support in Mac OS 10.5). This was only possible by installing a windows version via wineskin. But like a lot of other people I have always wanted the textures and models to be of a higher quality. And now this is possible, but trust me it’s not that easy to set up on a Mac. Plus the files size changes from 500MB to 4.5GB!
